On 16th of July the festival will be rocking Clarkston at the Pine Knob Music Theatre for a show so heavy, it might leave a sinkhole. If you consider yourself a headbanger and a fan of Wall of Deaths, then keep reading as this is just the beginning.
The festival is kickstarting its birth tour with four global iconic bands, known for their impressive drops, heavy base, powerful vocals and capability to get everyone in the pit. The four legends who are co-headlining this summer are Beartooth, I Prevail, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive. The jaw-dropping lineup doesn’t stop there. They will be supported by some of the scene’s best and new favourites such as the pit giants Devil Wears Prada, Amity Affliction, Kingdom of Giants, Dark Divine and Alpha Wolf.
It’s always a special occasion when the Aussie band Parkway Drive travel all the way from down under to the States and for a good reason. What started in a basement 20 odd years ago, turned into a global fandom. The band’s unique approach to Metalcore is known to get any mosh pit going round and round. Since their formation in 2003, Parkway Drive has published seven studio albums, each heavier than the last. Their last studio album ‘Darker Still’ won an APRA Award to add to their growing directory of previously won awards and nominees. You know the party is going to be amazing when you hear Parkway Drive blasting.
Killswitch Engage is a Grammy Award winning Metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts. The band formed in 2000 and have been making music and touring the world for 25 years. Their 2002’s studio album ‘Alive Or Just Breathing’ is considered to be one of top 100 greatest Metal albums of that era. You may know Killswitch Engage by their top hits ‘End of Heartache,’ ‘As Daylight Dies,’ and ‘My Curse.’ The band has a worldwide fanbase with top listeners from America, Australia and the United Kingdom.
America’s new Metal icon, I Prevail, is a Metalcore and Hard Rock band from Southfield, Michigan, formed in 2013. They have published four studio albums so far, and there’s no sign of slowing down for this band. Considering they’ve been on the scene for just over a decade, I Prevail has proven to us that big things can be achieved in the shortest of times. The band’s cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Black Space,’ attracted a lot of attention and popularity but to loyal fans, the band is known for hits like ‘Breaking Down.’ ‘Hurricane,’ and ‘Bow Down.’ The band’s third album ‘Trauma’ extended their exposure globally and it was nominated for the Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album” of the year in 2019.
The American band Beartooth is Metalcore band founded in 2012 by vocalist Caleb Shomo. Shomo is also a multi-instrumentalist and during the band’s early days he played all the instruments in the studio until he was joined by other members. Red Bull Music signed up the new emergin band in 2013. Beartooth released the debut EP later that year. Beartooth is proud to be the melodic and rock infused band in the Heavy Metal scene and they refuse to obay the expectations rather than celebrating raw emotions in music making. With this as the band’s ethos, they have released six studio albums that infused rock elements with heavy sounds. Beartooth’s popular hits are ‘The Past is Dead,’ ‘Fed Up,’ and ‘In Between.’
