Hip-hop’s most controversial duo, Suicideboys, are hitting the road on their much-awaited outing titled the Grey Day tour! This summer, Scrim and Ruby Da Cherry will conquer North America through their extensive trek to promote their forthcoming album, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation! On Friday, 5th August 2022, Suicideboys will make a coveted stop at the Pine Knob Music Theatre! Fans can anticipate a setlist packed with hits and an impressive line-up of support acts, such as Ski Mask The Slump God, $not, Maxo Kream, DJ Scheme, and JPEGMAFIA! If you’re a fan of Suicideboys’ eccentric shock rap music style, you should score your tickets now!
Suicideboys are not your average hip-hop act. The New Orleans-bred cousins take hip-hop and fuse them with many other elements, such as rock and punk. Fans often refer to their music as shock rap. The innovative sound and their outrageous visuals have earned them the brand as hip-hop’s outcasts, and critics are livid when it comes to their music. However, despite the unorthodox packaging, the duo has built a multi-million dollar empire. Their music was available only through SoundCloud in their early days. Today, they have amassed more than five billion streams. Their clothing line also brings them substantial revenue thanks to their massive cult following, who happened to purchase more than 500,000 tickets for their 2021 tour. Moreover, Suicideboys’ much-loved music is released independently via their own record label, G*59. It seems like the outcasts have mastered how to promote music through the Internet and word-of-mouth, and there is no stopping them anytime soon.
If you’re unfamiliar with their music, you can check out their debut album, I Want to Die in New Orleans. The 2018 record debuted at number 9 on the Billboard 200 and charted in ten other countries. The album featured the singles “Carrolton” and “Meet Mr. Niceguy.” Meanwhile, their sophomore album, Long Term Effects of Suffering, also performed well on the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at number 7. The record also peaked at number 3 on the Top Rap Albums and number 1 on the Top Independent Albums charts.
Tickets are now available for Suicideboys’ show at the Pine Knob Music Theatre!
