Avenged Sevenfold is an award-winning heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, and is one of the newer-age heavy metal rock bands of the 2000s. They've won Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards, Album of the Year from Kerrang! Awards, and a Grammy for the studio album, "The Stage." Avenged Sevenfold is known to have started their career as misfit kids that would only show up to school for guitar classes, and now they're earning recognition from the most prestigious music accolade in America.
Avenged Sevenfold debuted with the "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" album, it didn't radically change their lives once it was released in 2001, but it set them on their path. They've adopted a more modern heavy metal style on their third album, "City of Evil," released in 2005, which climbed to no. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart. By 2006, their "Bat Country" single from the successful album won Best New Artist and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts, No.6 on the Billboard Modern Rock Charts, and the accompanying video made it to No. 1 on MTV's Total Request Live. In 2012, Avenged Sevenfold won the award for "Best Live Band" and "Most Dedicated Fans" at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. With the release of their new song titled "Carry On," which was featured in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II, they were able to capture a wider audience and newer fans from all over the world.
With the slingshot from their award-winning album, it set their path to becoming one of the mainstream rock bands of the century. The album "Hail to the King" became a commercial success and charted as no. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and the UK Albums chart in 2013. By 2018, after the band released a deluxe edition of "The Stage," they were able to win Best Rock Song at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
The rock band will be out this year for their second 2023 North American tour in support of their new album "Life Is But a Dream." They'll be live at the Pine Knob Music Theater this 26th of July; so you better grab those tickets now because there's no surefire way to spend this summer than with the legendary rock icon Avenged Sevenfold! They won't be coming alone because two more rock icons, Alexisonfire, and Kim Dracula will be joining them this Wednesday! Click the "Get Tickets" link to secure your tickets.
