After a dual diagnosis of lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022, renowned singer-songwriter HALSEY took this chapter of their life into song. In a teaser video, Halsey hilariously plans a funeral where Joe Jonas is kicked off the guest list, dyed their hair blue, and said “lose the kid, it’s way too sad,” when a child was supposed to sing “Hallelujah,” she receives a phone call where the whole thing is called off. From caskets to the big stage, FOR MY LAST TRICK… Halsey is going on tour!

Halsey returned with a new album, “The Great Impersonator,” in October 2024. Debuting at #2 on the Billboard 200, everyone tuned in to their lyrical tales that took place right after the singer was diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Lamenting about living life one last time, it’s a deep dive into their thoughts, feeling detached like a great impersonator.

“Maybe I’ll hide again until a tour when the sun comes back. Maybe I won’t make a sound. Maybe I’ll sleep. Maybe I’ll choose different this time with my restart to zero, my bonus life I pulled from a box. And pull from a box with a needle every 3 weeks,” she wrote in a Tumblr post. “Maybe maybe maybe. Maybe I fixed everything so I could do this one thing again, without realizing that one thing was what needed fixing. I am tired and I forgot how to have fun.”

Now, she’s living their best life, trading the casket for a huge tour in a comedic teaser video. Dying their hair blue, kicking Joe Jonas off the guest list and scrapping a child’s performance of “Hallelujah” for being too sad, a phone call changes their life forever. Now, she’s ready to sing!
